Real Bride Wears Pronovias Axelle Gown in Cinematic Wedding Photos

At TMB we love seeing our brides’ visions come to life, and Giulia’s vision for her wedding, her dress choice and creative eye had our jaws on the floor.

Bride Giulia and groom Samuel hosted a wedding on October 25th 2025 in Portugal and if we were to describe the event in one word, it’d be: iconic.

The couple were going for a timeless, cinematic and fun vibe for their wedding.

And they delivered.

With the talented Ricardo Catarro and Mulher Photography capturing the day, this bride used her professional fashion PR experience to curate a picturesque event using personal touches and experiences that would make guests feel immersed in a classic film.

From the Rolls Royce to cigarettes on trays with custom matchbooks, this event was a vibe.

We asked Giulia about her wedding planning experience and advice she would give to brides that are inspired by her photos.

Giulia says she felt “elated” walking down the aisle in the Pronovias Axelle gown.

Watching “Say Yes to the Dress” growing up, she expected a dramatic “this is it” moment when she found her dress, and that’s exactly what she experienced. As soon as that dress hit her body, she knew that was the one.

Giulia said that shopping in person was a great experience to really understand what she liked. One thing that surprised her was how much she liked dresses with a train. When researching online, none of her inspiration photos had trains, but trying them on made all the difference to understand her taste.

Our bridal stylist pulled gowns throughout the appointment that made Giulia feel seen.

From finding the gowns to helping her step into them, she enjoyed her shopping experience and found the one.

Crafted from duchess satin, the Axelle gown perfectly captured a chic 90s aesthetic for the event. This sophisticated design features a scoop neckline, delicate straps, defined boning, and a low-slung waist at the hip.

This look could not have been more perfect.

Real Moments from the Day

A moment that lives rent free in bride Giulia’s mind was right after the ceremony.

“We stepped outside, were handed a glass of champagne, and hopped into a vintage Rolls Royce for photos. The adrenaline of leaving the ceremony and finally having a moment alone with my husband was pure euphoria. We just looked at each other and took it all in while we sipped our champagne!”

When it comes to emotions in the day, we asked who made her laugh and cry the most.

“My oldest brother gave a toast that had everyone doubled over in laughter. At the ceremony, my aunt officiated and took a moment of silence to honor my late mother. Just as she said her name, a loud train went by and honked—it was so loud she had to pause what she was saying. After it passed, she smiled and said, ‘that train must have been your mom’. It brought happy tears to so many of us in the room.”

A moment that didn’t go as planned, but that is looked at fondly now:

An hour before the ceremony, I had my MOH (Maid of honour) text the florist to confirm that the bouquets would be waiting at the venue when we arrived. When she replied, the location she shared was the wrong address— this one was an hour away. After another vendor hopped on the phone to confirm, we realized it was just a miscommunication with the address. My heart literally stopped for a full ten minutes, unsure if we would have flowers at our wedding.”

No matter how much you plan, expect a bump or two on the day of your wedding.

Advice for future brides from Giulia

It’s not uncommon for brides to go through a wave of thoughts and emotions related to second guessing their dresses or choices for the big day.

Here are some thoughts Giulia shared about her experience.

“[I was afraid] that I would find a dress I liked more after purchasing ‘the one’... There were so many ‘bridal’ expectations that everyone kept saying I needed to do- like a bridal shower or a first dance- that I often second guessed. Many of these things just didn’t feel aligned with me and my fiancé, and I’m happy we didn’t give into the pressure.”

For example, one rule that Giulia and Samuel broke on their wedding day was not doing a first dance.

The two simply don’t slow dance, so doing a traditional first dance didn’t feel right to them. Instead, they were surrounded by friends at the end of the night and belted “Stacy’s Mom” together.  It wasn’t a planned moment, the crowd simply felt moved to do so.

It’s organic moments like these that make your wedding feel like yours, and it’s important to trust yourself.

Giulia's advice for future brides is clear: create a vision board, commit to it, and don't look back. With endless choices for every detail, you will inevitably find other things you like, but you cannot have everything. Choose what feels right, secure your decision, and resist the urge to second-guess yourself.

“Trust your vision- you’ll love what you choose.”

One thing Giulia shares that she wishes she knew about wedding dress shopping is to stay away from looking at dresses after you’ve bought yours.

“I second-guessed mine when I saw other options online, but after the wedding, I couldn’t imagine wearing anything else. Over time, it’s easy to forget how the dress made you feel, so trust that feeling when you tried it on”.

We’re so glad dress regret didn’t creep in, because the proof is in the photos.

Giulia achieved a cinematic masterpiece of an event, and we are so honoured to have supported her vision with the Axelle gown by Pronovias                                  .

Thank you Giulia for sharing your story and we hope brides reading this feel as inspired as we were to work with her!
