Everything You Need To Know About Trunk Shows

Ok ladies, we are sure you've heard us chatting about Trunk Shows and kind of, sort of, wondered, "But, what exactly is a Trunk Show?” Don't worry, we've got all your Trunk Show FAQs answered below!

What is a Trunk Show?

A Trunk Show is when a designer sends us their entire latest collection! We carry only select pieces from each designer's collection in the TMB Dress Loft, so a Trunk Show allows us to show all our TMB babes the full collection from the season!

Do all designers offer Trunk Shows?

Not all designers offer Trunk Shows and/or sometimes we aren't able to receive a trunk show from every designer; however, the majority of the designers in the TMB Dress Loft do! If we cannot offer a trunk show from one of our designers we will do a Spotlight weekend promoting and specializing in a particular designer.

How long are Trunk Shows?

Typically, Trunk Shows run for one weekend starting Thursday through to Sunday. In some special cases, we are able to extend the trunk show to two full weekends.

When are Trunk Shows, typically?

Our Trunk Show season is twice a year; September - November and then again in January -March. This allows us to bring in the latest season's collections for our TMB babes. Having said that, we do have some exciting trunk shows scheduled in July and August!

Is a Trunk Show a sale?
Not necessarily, although some designers do offer incentives such as 10% off dresses purchased during the Trunk Show. The purpose of the Trunk Show is to display all the dresses from a designer’s most recent collection, which differs from a Sample Sale when dresses are on sale.

How do I know when my favourite designer is having a Trunk Show at TMB and how can I book an appointment?

We will be releasing the schedule for all our upcoming Trunk Shows and Spotlights for the remainder of 2019 and beginning of 2020 on June 7! You can book an appointment by calling TMB or by booking online.

Can I bring my bridesmaids?

Absolutely! Bring your bride tribe to check out all the accessories. With the 10% discount, this is the perfect opportunity to purchase some beautiful bridesmaid gifts.

Should I bring my dress to try on when choosing accessories?

We have created Style, Fizz and Sparkle to be a drop-in event to accommodate as many bride’s as possible, so brides will not have the chance to try on their dress with the accessories during this event. If you want to try your dress on with the accessories we suggest booking an accessory appointment during the week of the Accessory Trunk Show (April 30-May 2). You can book an Accessory Appointment here.

I didn’t buy my dress at TMB, can I still come to check out accessories?

Of course! We would love to have you, just remember to RSVP here.

Will there be stock to purchase the day of the event or are all the pieces ordered?

We will have stock pieces, but the majority of the pieces will be made-to-order! Accessories should be purchased approximately 4-8 weeks before your wedding.

TMB in NYC: Top 5 Trends We Saw at NYC Bridal Market

Jess Hirst Alicia Gibson Bridal Market NYC .jpg

We came, we saw, we fell head over heels for all the wedding dresses at 2018 NYC Bridal Market!

If you were following along with our Instagram stories this past weekend, you would have noticed we were a wee-bit excited about everything we saw at 2018 NYC October Bridal Market! We met with amazing designers we currently carry and we were in complete awe of their newest collections. We also met with some new designers who we will be bringing into the boutique and can’t wait to tell you more about.

Before we dish on all the new styles and designers that will be coming to TMB in Spring 2019, we wanted to break down the ‘Top 5 Bridal Trends We Saw in NYC’!

  1.  Unconventional Fabric - Swiss dot, intertwined honeycomb sponge mesh, and bee lace (yes you read that right, literal lace bees on a dress)!

  2. Bell Sleeves – Get ready ladies, flowing sleeves are coming and we just cannot wait for you to fall in love with them as much as we did! The bell sleeves give off a super romantic and fun vibe for your wedding day.

  3. 90’s Necklines – We’re talking crescent necklines and straight across necklines, so think Alicia Silverstone as Clueless’ Cher Horowitz in that infamous red dress or Rachael Lee Cook in She’s All That, ahh gorgeous!

  4. Cut Outs – Cut outs are still very much a thing in bridal and we couldn’t be happier about it; nothing like a little peak-a-boo to modernize your dress!

  5. New Individual Lines – We saw a lot of young entrepreneurial women who are shaping the future of bridal! We’re predicting that the bridal world is on a shift from a big box wedding dress production to individually-inspired dress designs with young entrepreneurial woman at the helm of their very own lines.

That’s it for now babes, but stay tuned for a complete vlog recap of our NYC trip! #TMBinNYC
