We are always touched when a bride finds their gown in our boutique but there are some brides that just stick with you. Gillian is one of those brides! Every fitting and appointment were delights! From the time we met Gillian to wishing her well on her day she was an absolute gem! We are so grateful to have met her and excited to feature her wedding here on the blog, just one more chance to showcase how stunning she was in her “Camellia” gown from Blush by Hayley Paige!

What was your favourite part of your wedding?
"I honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. I don’t even think I could pinpoint one part of the day. Obviously marrying my best friend and being surrounded by our closest friends and family, that’s a given. But the weather was perfect - not too hot and a little overcast at times, the speeches were all really amazing too, and we danced ALL night - I don’t think I’ve ever been to a wedding where there were so many people still on the dance floor at the end of the night. From start to finish it was so perfect."
Ryan, her now husband, sweetly added:
"It was hard to narrow it down, it was all fun! Gil had to be my favourite part because she looked so pretty and the day was just about us."
Things you would recommend to other brides?
"Again, I would 1000% recommend The Modern Bride to any newly engaged bride. It was such a fun experience for myself and everyone who came with me. I would also recommend getting a videographer!! Or even have a camera set up for your ceremony and speeches. The day is such a whirlwind and it's amazing how many special moments you do forget. I remember that all of the speeches at our wedding were really amazing - but being able to watch them back a couple months later brought back so many great moments that we had forgotten."
"One other thing I would highly recommend is doing a first look. Our first look was at 1:30pm and then we got to spend the rest of the day together. The ceremony wasn’t until 5pm so we had all afternoon for pictures and being with each other and our families until the ceremony started and guests started arriving!"
When we asked Gil if she would be one of our ‘Real Brides’:
"I would LOVE to be part of your blog! I have to say your boutique was probably one of my best wedding planning experiences - I tell all newly engaged friends and family about your store. It was such a fun and memorable experience :)"
Ok now you are making us blush! We were over the moon that Gil shared these photos with us! Spending time with her throughout the process was a dream and we are so glad that the day went off without a hitch! Congratulations Gillian & Ryan! We wish you every happiness!
