REAL TMB BRIDE: Brittany & Dan

We knew working with this woman would be a breeze the moment she strolled in for her appointment. All smiles, all of the time. She kept us laughing through the entire process and her wedding photos truly depict her amazing personality!

On her pick up day she walked up to the dress loft to gaze over at the Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate, dress in hand and it was so magical to watch her looking over at the church that she was going to get married at in the next 24 hours. Moments like that give us shivers and it was the perfect way to close her chapter here at TMB.

How did this love story start?

"Dan and I met through high school friends when Dan was at Laurier and I was at Western in our first year. We were friends first and started dating when we were both back living in Guelph after about 6 years of going to school and travelling abroad."

What was your favourite moment on the day?

"It is so hard to choose just one epic moment from our wedding! But, something that stands out is a slideshow my sister/Maid of Honour created for us. At the very end of the show, Max Kerman, lead singer from our favourite band Arkells, was on the screen giving Dan and I a personal wedding shoutout! We were floored that my sister had tracked their manager down and incorporated this extremely thoughtful message into our wedding. We had chosen an Akrells song as our first dance song (And Then Some) because they have been a band that we have gone to see so many times together and it was just so awesome to see their lead singer congratulating us!"

Any wisdom for future TMB Brides?

"Our wedding was amazing and we wouldn't have changed even one thing about the actual day! All of the prep - the venue, the dress, the rings, the decor - all of those things are so fun to plan and we had so much fun doing it, but my advice is to try to not overthink those little things. Have fun with it all and enjoy the process because in a second it's all over!

When I think back to when I started looking for the dress, I had heard of a few bridal stores, but I knew The Modern Bride was where I wanted to go and check out first. I was curious to what they did with their new showroom in the Petrie building and my friends had had such a great experience.

From the moment you walk into The Modern Bride, they make you feel like you and your day are their biggest priority. It was weird because I feel like I didn't really feel the realness about getting married until I walked into their gorgeous showroom. Their staff and just the general atmosphere makes you feel like a real bride and it's an amazing feeling."

Cool moments?

"When I went to finally pick up my dress, one of the girls who knew I was getting married at the church right up the street, asked if I wanted a photo in front of their window with the church in the background. It was one of the coolest moments leading up to the wedding and made with just so excited to get into the dress and get things started!"

Congratulations, love birds! Can’t wait to see what is in store for you both.

CHEERS!
